Orbital Welding & Stainless Steel Tube Fabrication
Orbital welding is used to produce repeatable TIG welds around stainless steel tubing and tube-to-fitting connections. It is particularly suited to applications where weld consistency, controlled heat input, alignment, and internal cleanliness are important.
WeldPure provides orbital welding and stainless steel tube fabrication for custom assemblies and prefabricated piping.

Applicability
Orbital welding is well suited to suitable thin-wall stainless steel tubing where controlled fit-up, shielding, and welding parameters are required.
Materials
Common materials include 304 and 316L stainless steel, subject to project requirements.
Procedure
Depending on the assembly, fabrication may include tube preparation, alignment, internal argon purging, orbital TIG welding, and post-weld inspection.
Custom Orbital-Welded Assemblies
Not every application requires a standard catalog component. WeldPure can coordinate custom tube assemblies based on customer requirements.
- Straight and bent tube assemblies
- Tube-to-fitting assemblies
- VCR-compatible assemblies
- Sanitary tube assemblies
- High-purity tube assemblies
- Multi-port manifolds
- Equipment connection assemblies
- Prefabricated piping sections
A complete drawing is helpful but not always required. Samples, photographs, dimensions, or part numbers can also be used for an initial review.
Applications
Orbital-welded stainless steel tube assemblies are used in applications where controlled tube fabrication and consistent welded connections are required.

F.A.Q.
Orbital welding is particularly suited to thin-wall 304L and 316L stainless steel tubing. The joint is welded from the outside while high-purity argon protects the weld root inside the tube. This single-sided process allows controlled penetration and a smooth, consistent internal weld profile, which is important for hygienic and high-purity process piping.
Yes, for suitable tube materials, dimensions, and joint configurations. The welding process is determined by the specific project requirements.
We fabricate tube-to-tube and tube-to-flange orbital-welded assemblies. Custom assemblies are built to project requirements. Length is determined by specific project needs.
No, but detailed drawings are very necessary. An initial assessment can also be made based on samples, pictures, and requirements.
Minimum 6mm, standard maximum 100mm+. Out-of-range sizes can be evaluated based on specific project requirements.
Thin-wall tubing with wall thickness less than 3mm.
Primarily 304 and 316L stainless steel. Other materials can be evaluated based on project requirements.
High-purity 99.999% argon for back purging, as required by project specifications.
100% borescope inspection, leak testing, and pressure testing. Other inspection methods can be arranged based on project requirements.
We perform prefabrication only. All orbital-welded assemblies are fabricated in our workshop. We do not provide on-site welding services.
